Filming locations you have to see

Filming locations you have to see

There are so many amazing cities in the world that are worth seeing. How do you choose which ones to visit and which ones to skip? How is it that some cities have a stable place on many people’s bucket list, yet others are not that famous?

It is obvious that some cities are simply more exciting, have more to offer curious travellers then less popular ones. But without doubt, the decision to visit a place or not, sometimes is based on the result of some very clever destination-marketing. Cities are competing for visitors much like companies, who compete for customers. To boost tourism, a place must be seen as an attractive spot for tourists to spend a few days of vacation.

One of the hacks to achieve the must-see status as a city, is to show the main monuments, the streets, and generally, showcase its image in popular movies! Everyone likes to relax in front of the screen once in a while. When watching an entertaining movie, we easily get inspired by some nicely cut scenes. Not only do we observe the buildings and the look of a town, but the movie can transfer a special mood, a unique feeling that one can possibly experience while making a visit to the filming location.

Sometimes it works very well, and hotels detect a rise in bookings after a successful movie was filmed close by, but sometimes people just don’t get inspired to visit the exposed city at all.  Below you can see some movies which inspired us to visit or even live in the city where the story takes place!

Have you been to any of them?
