The answers explained:

  1. In terms of area, Romania is 238,391km², Poland 312,685k², whereas Iceland is 103,000km², and Hungary 93,030km²
  2. 5 countries border Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Moldova, Serbia, and Ukraine.
  3. See above answer. Slovakia lies very close to Romania, with the closest cities being about a 2 hour drive from each other. However, you’d have to pass through Hungary or Ukraine to get there.
  4. The capital city of Romania is Bucharest. It is also the largest city, as well as the commercial centre of the country. It’s most iconic monument is the government building Palatul Parlamentului valued at €3 billion – making it the most expensive administrative building in the world. 
  5. Romania is evenly divided between mountains (31%), hills (33%), and plains (36%). The Carthapian mountains are the countries most famous range, forming a semi-circle around Transylvania.
  6. 40% of the Danube’s length is found in Romania. The Danube is Europe’s second largest river, after the Volga (found in Russia).
  7. Since the 1990s a lot has changed in Romania, giving way to a huge leap in tourism.
  8. Dracula famously lived in scary haunted Transylvania. You can even visit his castle!
  9. The eurasian lynx is the national animal of Romania. Bears and Golden eagles can also be found in the country too.
  10. The Black Sea is the only sea bordering Romania.
